Information Sheet on Glazing exterior Doors

Legally you must now fit safety glass in doors, if any part of the glass is within 1500mm of the floor.

Unless it was first glazed last week you probably won’t be able to get matching glass anymore and as most glazed front doors have at least 2 panes of matching glass and these are usually “frosted”, or
obscure as glaziers prefer to call them, you will have to have all of it done.

So the first thing to do is visit a glaziers and choose what you want. He will then come and measure up and a week later when he’s actually done the job, you will be secure again.

(Secure as in sort of burglar proof, your
state of mind isn’t part of my remit)!
