How Much Does it Cost to Tile a Splashback?

Job 1
You want him to tile between your
kitchen work surface and the wall cabinets above, using 6” (150mm x 150mm) tiles, along one 8’ (2400mm) wall, with two electrical sockets to take off, cut round and replace.
This is a nice leisurely day for one man plus a small amount of materials……..

Job 2
Same area of kitchen but with 1’ (25mm) mosaic tiles that come on a 12” (300mm) backing mesh which are a nightmare to put on.
This is fiddly work, but it will still only take 1 day plus his materials……

Job 3
Three walls now one including the window, so he has to go into the reveal and there’s a few more sockets to cut round.
With 6” tiles this will take him 2 days

Job 4
As above with those tricky little mosaic so and so’s. Call it 2.5 days……….£425.00

A Price Guide and Information Sheet on the Cost of Tiling a Kitchen Splashback

What a nice little job! If the kitchen fitter knew his stuff the worksurface is level, everything’s at a reasonable height and the kettle is always within reach. True there are a couple of electrical sockets he will have to cut around but he’s had worse jobs. Don’t try and cook the dinner while he’s still there though, particularly if it’s curry, it will drive him mad. Tilers do love a nice Ruby! (One for the trade).
