Cost of Draining, Flushing and “Bleeding” Central Heating

Price

These prices are based on a tradesman’s rate of £150 per day and a labourer if required
at £100 per day. They include the cost of buying and collecting the materials, dumping the waste as necessary and any incidental materials they will need.

Job 1
Drain your system, flush it all out with a special machine, fill it up again with inhibitor added, bleed it and leave it working. 1 man, 1 day……..£200.00

Job 2
He does a bit of maintenance while it’s empty. Lets say he fits/changes 1 thermostatic rad valve, an additional………£50.00.

General Drain Down Information

Definition of “Preventative Maintenance”…….A good idea, which remains simply that.

It never gets done of course but old central heating systems which will be full of impurities, should really have their water changed every 10 years, then get flushed out and filled up again with an “inhibitor” added to counter the sludge build up.
